Having rather unpleasant experiences as a student during my K-12 years, I never dreamed of attending college. Most of my high school career was spent in books— ones I found in libraries, never the assigned ones—and goofing off with friends. All of those books eventually caught up to me and produced some pretty powerful unintended consequences.

After graduating from college, I worked in operations management and found myself only enjoying the portion of the job involving coaching and teaching others. I took a leap of faith and quit my cushy job to pursue advanced degrees in the study of myth and depth psychology.

During graduate school, I worked as an LGBTQ+ homeless youth counselor and domestic violence counselor. Then, I found work as a tutor and substitute instructor at public high schools. My first full-time teaching assignment was at a private high school, working alongside youth with various learning challenges. My higher education teaching career began at a vocational college, designing and delivering various business and writing courses. At that time, I also began teaching at a 4-year college, and, after doing that for 5+ years, I was invited to teach graduate students at my alma mater.

I currently teach high school students full-time, occasionally teach college and graduate school learners, and privately tutor. Being an educator is an honor!
